Let me tell you a story.
She’s from Massachusetts. He’s from Louisiana. She was a student in Georgia. He was a stunt double for Zombieland (the movie). Shauna and Ryan were introduced at a hockey game one night – and the rest is history.
Their families came together for the wedding in Baton Rouge, LA near Ryan’s parents’ home. The wedding was, without a doubt, non-traditional. So many amazing details and wedding day goodies for everyone. Oh, did I mention that Shauna, with the help of their friends and families, put the wedding together from Los Angeles, where they currently reside. Guests came in from far and wide, and everyone was treated to Kickers BBQ straight off the truck!
I think that some people get intimidated when asked to work for another “creative”, but I try to use that to my advantage. Shauna has worked as a wedding photographer’s assistant for years, so she was very familiar with the process. In addition, one of her bridesmaids is also an assistant to a photographer. Then, of course, another bridesmaid was the amazing Melissa Prosser, a fabulous wedding photographer just outside of Atlanta, Georgia! The girls helped me carry out my photo “visions” as the day progressed and didn’t complain once :)
