My nephew Colby, was diagnosed with Leukemia two years ago. Immediately, he was sent to St. Jude Medical Research Center in Memphis, TN for treatment.
He was sick, very sick. His body weight was cut in half, and he was confined to his bed for months – an eternity for a little boy. Colby fought hard, he never gave up, nor did his doctors at St. Jude’s.
Colby is now 10 years old, he is in remission, and enjoys life like any other kid. He terrorizes his two sisters, rides the 4-wheeler, and hunts and fishes with his grandpaw.
We wouldn’t have him today if it weren’t for St. Jude’s – truly we owe them everything.
This Friday – April 30th from 10AM-3PM, there will be a fundraiser for St. Jude’s at the Shell Station on Hwy 28E in Pineville, LA. There will be T-Shirt sales, a dunking booth, face painting, and tons of giveaways.
Stop in and let one of the Shell Corp District Managers from all over Louisiana fill your tank up – tip them with your donation. Get out, meet Colby – he’ll be there greeting everyone (and probably getting into trouble haha).
Anything helps, so please – help fund the research that’s going on in Memphis, and the kids they are treating there. It’s worth it – trust me.
